Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

Psychiatric practitioners, seasoned and new alike, shouldwelcome the recent publication of the third edition of RussellBarkley’s classic textbook on attention-deficit/hyperactivitydisorder (ADHD). The first editionwas published in 1981 andwas followed by the second edition, which was published 17years later in 1998. Fortunately, Dr. Barkley has not waited another17 years to update his classic textbook, as research in thefield of ADHD has accelerated considerably in recent years, making this new edition a much needed and anticipated additionto any practicing clinician’s library.
