Sir: Ghaemi suggests that in our study on the diagnosisof bipolar disorder we confused concepts of reliability and validity.In fact, we discussed issues of both reliability and validity.As we noted in the discussion section of the article: "Anystudy seeking to determine whether a psychiatric disorder isoverdiagnosed will find that some patients with the index conditiondo not have it upon reinterview.
